Gloria was a remarkable woman who, at the age of 86, co-founded the Storehouse Food Pantry. Her dedication to serving the community shone brightly even during the challenging COVID period. No obstacle or hardship could deter her from aiding her community, making her presence a beacon of hope and reliability. A beloved figure widely known for her generous spirit, Gloria offered her unwavering support to countless people. Her kindness was motherly in nature; the moment she welcomed you into her home, you instantly became a part of her extended family. Gloria would attentively listen to your stories, nourish you with a meal, and offer sage advice only if solicited. Being a mother of ten children, Gloria's maternal instinct extended beyond her family. She became a symbolic second mother to many, not just locally, but also across various countries. Her enduring impact is a testament to her innate ability to connect with people. Many years ago, Gloria served in the Ravenna School system where she initiated a transformative program called "Letting Off Steam." The program provided healing, encouragement, and guidance, coupled with a wealth of support for the community's youth. Today, we often hear stories from our pantry visitors, reminiscing about the program and its profound impact on their lives or the lives of their family members. Gloria firmly believed in the age-old African proverb: "It takes a village to raise a child." Her life reflected this belief, as she dedicated herself to nurturing the growth and development of those around her. As her seventh child, I am deeply inspired by her life's mission. I made a solemn promise to her that I would carry forward her legacy, as the need for programs like "Letting Off Steam" is more critical than ever in these challenging times. Gloria, may you rest in peace, your spirit continues to guide us, and your legacy of love and service lives on in the hearts of those you touched
